What is a general assistant / hospitality?

  • A general assistant is a multi skilled hospitality operative. Someone who can deliver great hospitality service in both a front of house and back of house environment.

 

Basic Front of house duties may include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of all meals and beverages to customers, ensuring great customer service at all times
  • Taking orders and serving both food & drink.
  • Clearing tables and maintaining the restaurant, café or canteen in line with company ‘best practice’ and current Health & Safety legislation.

 

Basic Back of house duties include:

  • Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
  • Collect and wash glassware and crockery
  • Ensure hospitality rooms are left tidy
