Harden’s has announced its 2026 Top 100 UK Restaurants, offering more than a ranking – it provides a snapshot of what diners value most right now, such as clarity of concept, consistency in execution and a strong identity on the plate.

Moor Hall Takes No.1

Mark Birchall’s Moor Hall in Aughton has climbed from 74th to the top spot, fresh off earning its third Michelin star. Diners praised it as “faultless in every way”, reinforcing how clarity of concept and consistent excellence continue to win loyalty at the highest level.

Strong Performances Across the UK

The top of the list features:

  • L’Enclume, Cartmel
  • Waterside Inn, Bray
  • The Ledbury, London
  • Row on 5, London – a standout debut

The North West remains a major force, with 12 restaurants in the Top 100, including Skof, Mana, Heft and So-lo.

Pricing Trends Reflect Operational Pressure

Harden’s data shows notable price rises:

  • Restaurants over £100 per head increased by 6.8 percent
  • Over £150 per head increased by 8.6 percent
  • London venues above £250 per head rose from 14 to 24

These increases align with continued pressure from wages, utilities and food inflation.

A Tough Year – But Rising Standards

Despite 2025 being one of the hardest years many operators recall, Harden’s highlights remarkable resilience. Strong newcomers across the UK are entering the Top 100 immediately, showing that guest expectations are higher than ever and operators are responding with innovation and discipline.

For hospitality teams, the message is simple:
Exceptional execution, a clear identity and unwavering consistency remain the foundations of success in 2026.
