Matthew grew up on the edge of the Peak District and began his Hospitality career whilst studying for his A-Levels in local restaurants and bars as a KP and in FOH.
Opting to pursue a career as a chef after 6th form, he went to culinary school and worked locally before venturing to Turkmenistan and Berlin to cater for events. Whilst abroad, he discovered a passion for fine dining and in particular, pastry.
He continued to work locally in a two and 3-rosette hotels and then a Michelin Guide pub before moving to the Lake District to work for Simon Rogan MBE at Henrock.
Enjoying various roles in the kitchens, offices and farm across several years in the company, he began at three Michelin-starred L’Enclume.
Now back in and around Manchester, Matthew joined Jubilee in 2025.
Fun fact – Outside of work Matthew loves travel, spending time with friends, is a keen footballer and a long-suffering Manchester United season ticket holder.
