Laurie started her journey in hospitality at the age of 17 working at a pizza shop in a busy shopping centre while she was studying dance at college. Her favourite thing about working there was chatting with customers and the free pizza at the end of the shift!
At 19 she moved to London to study dance at university; on the side she worked in London’s lively hospitality scene in popular bars, restaurants, cafes, and clubs. Laurie thrived in this loud and busy environment but learnt how challenging hospitality can be but how fulfilling it is at the same time. She continued weaving in and out of different jobs all over London from a bubbly bar in East London, Christmas markets in central to a well-known juice bar in West.
Having graduated Laurie moved back to her hometown where she worked as a reception supervisor for David Lloyd; she also helped out with the kids club and the café from time to time. A year later she has moved onto her next adventure as a Recruitment Consultant for the hospitality industry where she can incorporate her knowledge and experience into her new career path.
