Definitions
Have you ever thought about the word ‘Safety’? What does it mean when you use the word?
Some would argue that safety is simply not having accidents at work, however perhaps a clearer definition would be “Not just the avoidance of accidents but also the prevention of accidents, with everyone at work being proactive to identify possible causes, reporting issues and implementing suitable controls”
Does this sound like your workplace? If not what do you think could be done to get people to identify potential accident causes?
