We’re currently seeking a skilled and dependable Sous Chef to join the catering team at our private hospital.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a calm, professional environment where quality, nutrition, and care are at the heart of everything we do.

As Sous Chef, you’ll support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff, and visitors—ensuring excellent standards of food safety, presentation, and dietary compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily kitchen operation
  • Prepare and present meals that meet medical, dietary, and cultural requirements
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times
  • Supervise and guide kitchen staff to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
  • Help plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines and patient needs

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie in a high-volume or healthcare setting
  • Understanding of dietary requirements, allergens, and special diets
  • Strong leadership and time management skills
  • Commitment to hygiene, safety, and operational standards
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent preferred, in house training will be given
  • A team player with a calm and compassionate approach
