An established 35-bedroom hotel near Ware, Hertfordshire, is looking for an experienced Head Chef to take the lead in its busy kitchen, delivering high-quality food across a varied and exciting range of services.

From breakfast and brunch to lunch, dinner, functions and special events, this is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in both food quality and team development.

 

The Role

As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, inspiring your team to deliver consistently high standards across every service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, motivating and developing a kitchen team of 15.
• Overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Working closely with the Head of Food to develop creative, seasonal menus.
• Managing kitchen costs, gross profit (GP), budgets and stock control.
• Ensuring full compliance with HACCP, food safety, health and safety, and allergen procedures.
• Creating a positive kitchen culture built around teamwork, organisation and continuous improvement.

 

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from an experienced Head Chef with a background in a busy hotel, restaurant or gastro pub.

You'll bring:

• Proven leadership skills and the ability to get the best out of a team.
• Strong commercial awareness, including GP and cost control.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple services.

Working Hours
