Enhanced DBS Chef

We are looking for experienced chefs who hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate to work across a variety of settings, including schools, colleges, nurseries, care homes, and healthcare facilities throughout Greater/ Central London.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present fresh, high-quality meals.
• Cater for a range of dietary requirements, allergies, and special diets.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.
• Manage food stock, storage, and minimise waste.
• Work effectively as part of a team or independently when required.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain professional standards in DBS-regulated environments.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a chef in schools, colleges, nurseries, healthcare, care homes, or other DBS-regulated settings.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential – on the Update Service or willing to obtain).
• Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
• Food Allergen Awareness Certificate (essential).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a variety of kitchen environments.

Desirable

• Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
• Experience working in contract catering or education catering.
• Knowledge of school food standards and nutritional guidelines.
• Experience preparing meals for large numbers of people.
