Head Chef – Care Home

£30,000 per annum – 40 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef to join the kitchen team at a welcoming care home, overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen and producing fresh, nutritious meals for residents.

Responsibilities of Head Chef

• Lead and motivate the kitchen team
• Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals
• Ensure all dietary and nutritional requirements are met
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
• Manage stock, ordering and food costs
• Work closely with the care team to ensure residents’ needs are met
• Create menus that offer variety and choice

What we're looking for 

 

• Previous experience as a Head Chef, Chef Manager or Senior Sous Chef
• Experience working in a care, healthcare, hotel, restaurant or contract catering environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene
• Good understanding of special dietary requirements
• A caring, organised and hands-on approach
