We are seeking experienced and passionate Healthcare Chefs to work across hospitals, care homes, rehabilitation centres, and other healthcare settings throughout Central London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet the dietary and nutritional needs of patients and residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present fresh, nutritious meals to a high standard.
- Cater for a variety of dietary requirements, including allergens, modified textures, and specialist diets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor food stock, rotate ingredients, and minimise waste.
- Work effectively with kitchen teams and healthcare staff to meet service requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a chef within healthcare, care homes, hospitals, or similar environments.
- Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
- Food Allergen Awareness Certificate (essential).
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential – on the Update Service or willing to obtain).
- Good knowledge of therapeutic and specialist diets.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience preparing texture-modified or therapeutic diets.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and healthcare catering requirements.
- Experience working in NHS or private healthcare environments.
