We’re working with a fantastic food-led gastro pub that is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join their kitchen team.

This is a great opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and wants to be part of a busy, quality-focused kitchen where the food is genuinely at the heart of the business.

The pub serves high-quality, seasonal menus, with a strong focus on fresh produce, attention to detail and well-executed dishes.

Responsibilities of Sous Chef

• Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during busy services
• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard
• Work with fresh, seasonal ingredients
• Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
• Manage stock, ordering and minimise food waste
• Train and develop junior chefs
• Ensure the kitchen remains organised and efficient throughout service
• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence

About You

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef who enjoys working in a busy, food-led environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
• A background in gastro pubs, restaurants or quality-led kitchens
• A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal food
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety
• The ability to lead a team and remain calm under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards
• A hands-on approach and positive attitude
