I’m working with a fantastic food-led gastro pub that’s looking for a hands-on Deputy General Manager to join their team and play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business.

This is more than just a Deputy role — it’s a genuine stepping stone to becoming a General Manager, with the opportunity to work closely with the senior team, take ownership of the operation and develop your leadership and commercial skills.

Responsibilities of Deputy General Manager 

• Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub
• Take responsibility for the operation in the GM’s absence
• Lead and motivate the front-of-house team
• Ensure consistently high standards of service, food and guest experience
• Run busy services and ensure the team are performing at their best
• Train, coach and develop team members
• Assist with rotas, staffing and labour management

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has experience in a busy pub, restaurant or gastro pub
• Is confident leading a team and running service
• Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality
• Is commercially aware and keen to develop their management skills
• Leads from the front and enjoys being hands-on
• Is ambitious and wants to take the next step towards General Manager
