• possess a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent)
  • Hold a basic and intermediate food & hygiene certificates
  • Have substantial experience of working within a professional kitchen
  • Be familiar with the principles of stock control, ordering and legislative requirements for the storing and preparation of food.
  • be proficient in all sections of the kitchen
  • the ability to work effectively within a team, possessing a supportive, positive and flexible attitude
  • to have a good awareness and enthusiasm for local, organic produce and be eager to utilise this in a nutritious, seasonal menu
  • good communication skills, able to effectively liaise with a broad range of internal and external customers and colleagues
  • proven planning and organisation skills
  • to be pro-active and able to use initiative within a fast-moving environment
  • adherence to and awareness of legislative requirements
  • pride and passion for the industry and food
  • enthusiastic and willing to learn and develop
