About us

This beautifully located hotel has recently come under new ownership and the re-launching of the business requires a growing professional team.

We are a boutique country hotel with 18 bedrooms situated in a scenic location overlooking Stroud set in 4 acres of grounds.  We have a score well above 9/10 from Booking.com and 4/5 from Trip advisor

Going forward, our vision is to build an environmentally friendly and sustainable business that values its workforce and strives to give its employees a good work/live balance.

The vision for the kitchen is be more Farm to Fork offering a taste of Cotswolds which is both organic & sustainable.  The cooking uses traditional main ingredients but explores twists in the style of cooking.  We operate herb and vegetable gardens on site and incorporate the harvest into the menu.   We eventually aspire to include more elements around healthy eating and chef table.

The restaurant has 50-60 indoor covers and we are modifying the 4acres of grounds to do more “al fresco” dining to double the covers with views over Stroud in the valley and the ground’s gardens.

We are looking for people who share the same passion and vison to join us and help develop the culinary offering further to make it a distinct destination to come and eat.

About you

The Attitude & Skills you bring to the table

  • Track record of cooking in higher end kitchen – two rosettes or more
  • Demonstrable passion for trying new cooking propositions – in professional or private capacity – and always keen to learn more
  • Can show they are reliable and dependable in their timekeeping and execution
  • Have an interest in kitchen gardens in terms of management and incorporating it into the repertoire
  • Knowledge in foraging and sustainable farming will be considered a plus
  • A team player that can point to examples of where he works for the success of the brigade rather than his station
  • Wanting to progress your career to the next level of kitchen management – either as a Commie to CDP or CDP to Junior Sous.
