After working in gastro pubs and restaurants in Hereford, Marc was given the opportunity to move to London. Here he began working as Assistant General Manager with De Vere Venues at the 1 Rosette “Brigade”. This was a social enterprise restaurant working alongside Beyond Food Foundation and PricewaterhouseCoopers which ran an apprenticeship programme recruiting and training eight chefs every six months who had experienced homelessness. This was a fantastic learning experience for Marc and one which kept him there for three years. Marc was then approached by the renowned London Bar Group – Drake & Morgan. Marc took on the position of Assistant General Manager at one of their busiest sites – The Anthologist in Bank. This provided Marc with key exposure to a more bar-led operation, allowing him to understand another side of hospitality.
After The Anthologist, Marc felt he needed a new challenge, and this was presented in the form of Recruitment Consultant for a hospitality recruiter in London. Marc looked after permanent management recruitment for pubs, bars and restaurants. During his time at this employment, Marc took a 10 month gap to travel and work in Australia. Shortly after returning to the company, Marc made the decision to join Jubilee in the Gloucester office which afforded him the chance to relocate closer to his hometown in Hereford. Marc has leveraged his recruitment experience to build a thriving desk managing temporary chefs on a nationwide, live-in basis.
Whilst employed with De Vere Venues, Marc was selected for the Leadership Academy – a 12 month course where 12 employees were selected out of 1500!
